Job Description:
We are seeking a committed and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students within the PRU setting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualized support and intervention to students facing challenging behaviours and barriers to learning.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement targeted strategies to address underlying causes of difficult behaviours.
- Facilitating re-engagement with education through personalized learning experiences and therapeutic interventions.
- Supporting students in developing pro-social behaviours, emotional regulation skills, and resilience to overcome obstacles.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with students in alternative provision settings, such as PRUs, is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students facing complex challenges.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience in supporting students through periods of transition and emotional turmoil.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to identifying and addressing barriers to learning and behaviour.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, special educational needs (SEN), counselling, or related fields would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
